Introduction Mouse cord movement often sweeps pencils, papers,
coffee cups and other common items off a computer table or
desk. Entanglement of the mouse cord with computer wiring
and the sweeping of items off desks interrupt computer operators
during their work, which results in frustrated computer operators
and time spent untangling cords and cleaning spills. A method
for restraining the mouse cord is needed.
Description To restrain the mouse cord, the use of a shackle
is proposed. The shackle is a partially cylindrical body with
flared lips. The shackle can be secured to a mounting structure.
The mounting structure can be secured to immobile objects
such as a mouse pad or desktop. The shackle allows the mouse
cord to move along the length between the mouse and the shackle,
which is sufficient to manipulate the mouse. At the same time,
the shackle restrains the remaining length of the cord and
does not allow it to move and sweep items on the desktop off
the table. Thus, a shackle restrains a mouse cord.
Additional information The user can easily adjust the cord length as
required to properly manipulate the mouse.
